"About two-thirds of Republican lawmakers refused to back the rescue package, as well as 95 Democrats...

Speaking after the vote, Republican leaders in the House of Representatives suggested the Democrats were to blame, accusing them of failing to mobilise their majority in the chamber."

Read that again.

2/3 of the Republicans voted against it.
2/3 of the Democrats voted in favour.

The Republican house leaders say the Democrats are to blame for the failure of the package.

Remember... THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO ARE GOING TO SAVE YOUR ECONOMY!

The Republicans came up with the idea. I would not put it past them to then vote against it, and try to make that into a PR coup. I am sort of glad the bailout failed, but obviously, I haven't been running long on trust for the Democrats.

Difference is, when it comes to the economy who are you going to trust less? Someone you has proven themselves to be untrustworthy and opportunistic, or someone who has proven themselves to be ethically bankrupt nepotistic profiteers?

No way. I live with two cats and I used to work animal rescue. So here's my impression of a certain candidate; "I may not be considered Miss Congeniality in the Senate, but I look into those eyes and I see the letters F O O D?."
