Scrooge the 1951 film based on A Christmas Carol, with Alastair Simm as Scrooge. Not the colorized, edited version with Patrick Macnee in front of a fireplace, though I will watch that one. Also, the Muppet version of A Christmas Carol, which I saw with my family on Boxing Day, 1992.

But, as noted in my previous post, I also associate Christmas with Conan the Barbarian and New Year's Eve with Blade Runner.

I've watched that version of A Christmas Carol every year of my life (well, probably not when I was one or two). My sister and I have been known to break out in a chorus with a flurry of lines at any time of the rolling year.

My new tradition, in addition to the above, is to cuddle up on the couch with my husband, usually on Christmas Eve, and watch "Love, Actually". We first saw this movie the February after it came out, on a snowy night when we spontaneously decided we needed a date night. The weather was terrible that night, but to our surprise, the theatre was full of 30-60 year olds laughing and thoroughly enjoying themselves. I always bring a little bit of that energy with me when I sit down to watch it again.

You are not the first person to recommend this film to me! I should look around for it.
