pyatSo. 10:35 PM. Sitting in front of the computer, waiting for the Canada Day fireworks to stop so I can go to bed.
I hear a "click, click" at the front door - the sound of the bolt being drawn. I stand up, and I hear the bolt hastily being slid back in place. I step into the hallway, and there is my 2-year-old, in her footie pajamas, on tip toes, with a sippy cup gripped in her teeth, closing and locking the front door.
Time to get a deadbolt on the doorframe, several feet off the ground...
