I just met a very nice man outside who is possessed by demons. He was telling me about the "f***ing magnets of madness", in a very loud voice. He also explained that God might not have two eyes on us, but he definitely had one eye, and, hey... maybe he doesn't have any eyes at all!

He was barefoot (his shoes were in his pockets) and bearded. In another place and time, he'd be a prophet. In 21st century Canada, he yells outside Tim Hortons until an approaching bylaw officer causes him to take flight.

Only if the magnets of madness could be used to justify a change in government...

According to James Tilly Matthews, they should! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Tilly_Matthews)

Well, he can't manage Hairy Tarantula ALL the time.

Okay, I almost spit out my drink, thanks to you ;) I always felt a bit sorry for the one girl who worked there - she seemed comparatively normal, but I couldn't help assuming she was the girlfriend of one of the other employees...

The one with the purple hair?

There were two women working there at once last time I was in, but that was a few years ago.

I only shopped there between about 2003-5, and at that time there was only one girl I ever saw behind the counter. She didn't have purple hair at that point, she was fairly petite and seemed mostly to know about the manga stuff.

Hmmm. If it was an L5R specialist, I'd think you meant [livejournal.com profile] shara, but that was after I was a regular customer at the store.

She may well also have known about L5R, I just never happened to hear her talking about it, but did hear her a few times helping customers with manga-related issues. I wasn't in more than once every couple of months, though, so I wouldn't claim to have a full knowledge of the staff :)

I have a reasonably normal female friend who works there, but she hasn't been there since '05. If you ever go in there and see a curvy Asian girl named Joyce working, I know her.

Oh, come on. The current Hairy T manager is just MtF transsexual, not a fiery preacher who proclaims the evils of magnets.

Isn't there something in the New Testament making fun of people like this?

I don't know, but it'd be great if there was.

The real question is: which guy are you talking about?

Gosh, I love working in downtown Toronto sometimes. Esp. here. Never a dull moment.

Have you seen the man who looks like Santa Claus, with an enormous hernia? :)

What does an enormous hernia look like, and should I be able to see it? *confused*

I've seen some very sooty Santas...

Basically, he has an enormous bulge where his belly meets his pants... football shaped.

Or maybe it's a tumor! :)

Maybe that's where he keeps his "f***ing magnets of madness".

I have an interesting story about palpating an elderly patient's hernia. Maybe I'll recount it some day. But it also happens to be my most embarassing story, so I won't actually recount it today.

From: [identity profile] hannahmorgan.livejournal.com
Does it end with the patient exclaiming, "That's not a hernia, that's my wife!"?
