I think she based the eyes and shape of the head off of the animals in Littlest Pet Shop.

I second you on the eyes-- very awesome. I used to draw a lot of rainbows and unicorns when I was her age, too. It finally took a "how to draw horses" book someone bought me to actually get me doing correct conformation on them. Circle-sketch anatomy is your friend!
