My mom's house, last night. SANTA IS EVERYWHERE.

Anybody want a peanut? Cthulhu? You want a peanut? Two of the several gifts I received from my parents and older sister last night. Thanks, guys. :)

Tonight, I took the girls to see the Christmas Light Panorama in the town of Simcoe, Ontario. They had a lot of fun.

As we drove back through dark country roads, a thick winter fog rolled in. Happily, Simcoe and the surrounding towns were part of my beat as a reporter, and I was able to switch on autopilot and get home without trouble.

As long as the roads are familiar and quiet, I've actually quite enjoyed going through fog. Only when it got can't-see-past-the-hood thick was it really troublesome...

But then, I also like blowing snow(driving in it less so). And for much the same reason - it's restful; not exactly the best sort of stimulus for one to be driving under...

I don't ususally read your live journal or comment but these are nice pictures.I love the tree picture. Did you put the 3-D glasses on the lens? Glad you made it to Simcoe and back. Missing the girls, we will have them this week again for a special Oma and Opa day.

That's a pretty accurate depiction of Swan Point cemetary! Though, Lovecraft is actually buried a few yards away from the headstone, which was put in place by fans in the 70s.

*pedant!*

What's the building in the last photo? It looks like an old train station almost.

It is indeed an old train station, in the farming community of Jarvis, ontario. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jarvis,_Ontario) Across the street from the old train station is the D&D Diner, where I used to take early breakfasts on dark winter mornings.
