The Beginning of the End

The D&D campaign I started 7 years and 11 months ago is one encounter away from the end of their very, very long campaign. Tonight, three players hit 18th level, and two hit 19th. I expect the last session to take place just before the 8th anniversary of the first session.


We'll keep gaming together, I'm sure. But I don't know what the next game will be!

Wow. It's... amazingly hard to grasp that passage of time. I would have been in high school when the game started.

We used to joke that by the time we finished, mar2nee's daughter would be in high school. She's in grade eleven this year and contemplating university in a year and a half. She was eight when we started.

It's longer than the "Golden Age of Gaming" I had between grade 8 and the end of high school. Though, granted, during that period we were playing 2 or 3 times a week.

Endings are never nice, but they can carry with them significance and the chance to brag about it in years to come.

Wow! Rad! You guys are awesome, staying together, keeping on playing all that time! Gosh. I've never had a group stay together past one session. ^.^;;
