Some points about today

I had a dream this morning I was in a hotel, writing an email to tell Erin when I'd be home. My alarm went off. I rolled over and turned it off. So I could finish the email. It took me a few minutes to realize I was not in a hotel, and that, in any case, going back to sleep is not a good way to finish an email.

I'm sitting in the basement, watching the 1987 movie Some Kind of Wonderful on a 5" black and white TV, on a broadcast channel. I still have a crush on Mary Stuart Masterson in that movie.

Elizabeth has been waking up with a bad cough of late. Among our several home remedies is taking her outside on the porch to breath in some cold air, which seems to settle it rapidly. We did that tonight, even though it's -10 C with a bitter wind. I wrapped in a blanket and we sat and talked about school, Christmas lights, and (of all things) Dungeons and Dragons. She really wants to play an RPG soon, and has thought out several characters, all variations on a princess with a sword who likes to rescue people from evil wizards.

This past weekend was busy, but very good. I'm still happy about it. Family, friends, closeness, and good times all round.
