There was a free buffet, everyday!

Like I say, I have a monocle.

I'm home now. I had a fantastic time with very good friends, from far and wide.

What are those? In the bowls? In the first picture?

Please let the answer include the words "made to look like".

It's an old tradition for furries to eat Milkbone dog biscuits, usually with Nutella chocolate-hazelnut spread. Not a tradition I'm intending to participate in. ^.^;;

Oh, those are dog biscuits, cleverly made to look like bones.

Mind you, they were at the tail end of a long free buffet of cookies, chili, hot dogs, fruit, boiled eggs, chips, granola bars, pop and juice, bread and lunch meat, etc. I don't think I actually saw anyone eat a dog biscuit.

As part of that elusive 30% of the fandom that's more or less just plain straight, I'm *so glad* the catgirl in white shows up to MFF. >.>

...actually I'm happy just generally to see the fandom's gender balance trending away from abysmally male-dominant, albeit for less...obvious reasons than I'm happy miss kitty's around.

1. Claws
2. Triangular ears

As someone else in the fandom who is a flaming heterosexual, and who has taken several pictures of that particular catgirl (who by the way seems to love that particular pose), She is most certainly feline... and most certainly female.

I misinterpreted the shape of the ears, but you're right, you're right, you're perfectly right -- I should have caught on to the claws, at least.

I stood next to her in the prereg line for about 30 minutes, and there is (happily) definitely more to her than just a cute costume. Though the costume would be plenty.

Seconded (well, with Leonard thirded). That is an awesome Felicia (from Dark Stalkers).

I love the black-and-white (well, sepia) photo of you with the monocle - very Bruno von Boots-ish. :) Did the Italian restaurant at the hotel go out of business? And does it look like the hotel can handle the con next year?

The con won't be in that hotel next year - it's moving to the Hyatt Regency O'Hare.

I've been to that hotel - it is very, very awesome.

I believe it did go out of business, though I'm not sure when!

Osteria di Tramonto went out of business in January, 2009. The hotel was kind enough to offer the unused space to us for use as Con Suite/Den/Internet Room. It worked amazingly well, and my only complaint is that the bar has been set high to improve on that next year!

Thanks, Duncan!

It was a marvellous con - I'd attended three since 2003, and I've always been very impressed with the venues and con staff.

I did - and [livejournal.com profile] babsbunny grabbed me by the lapels and demanded I tell her where I came from. She says you have to make her one.

Two other people recognized it!
