The October Country
Oct. 3rd, 2009 09:08 pmToday..
Happier and more content than I've been in a couple of months. It's cold and rainy out, and warm and cozy inside, and the house is quiet. It's been a very productive and interesting 72 hours. Autumn is my favorite season. October is my favorite month.
My first day off work was Thursday. I was very productive, taking care of literally dozens of minor home repairs and chores we'd been putting off, in some cases for years. And cleaning! Thursday night
Yesterday was my first solo day as a housedad, responsible for making lunches and getting the girls to and from places.
Load...
Aim...
Fire!
I love the Fon that She Due.
The posh, posh travelling life...
No, Winnie the Pooh isn't hanging by his neck. This was one of the exciting artistic tableaux vivants en route, narrated by scratchy recordings from Disney movies.
Claire really liked them.
Elizabeth liked travelling in a pumpkin.
The Haunted Hayride was less of a hit. Elizabeth did NOT like it at all, and Claire was scared.
Guys like this kept popping out, and there were all kinds of gory installations, a little scene of a 12 year old girl being chased by a man with the chainsaw.
This was more their speed.
Good day!
I never seem to have a neutral expression in photos.
And again!
We all scurried down the Mountain as the rain poured down and lightning flashed, and finished the afternoon with supper at Swiss Chalet.
Tomorrow is the first session of my Star Wars game. Yay!

Ever seen the pumpkin catapults?
