I'm ready to ride the bus to another bus!

Let's have a pow-wow about the Honeywell contract!

Well, sort of.

You know... if I was 35 in 1965, I'd probably be dead right now. Especially since I'd probably have been smoking a pipe.

If alive, I'd have clear memories of WWII, though I'd have been too young to serve. I might have served in Korea, as that war started shortly after my 20th birthday. I'd have been married in 1955. Elizabeth would have been born in 1959, and Claire in 1962. I'd probably be working for a daily newspaper, or as a copywriter for a company in Hamilton.

I'd probably have been the sort of man who futzed with tape recorders and home movie cameras. I'd have a darkroom in the basement, and a subscription to a couple of science-fiction magazines.

I'd not heard of it! Then again, I'm cablefree.

Season 1 and 2 are on DVD, well worth checking out.

And remember that there was just enough of a wargaming underground to build up towards Chainmail, and then Dungeons and Dragons. Oh, and the SCA and other stuff. A slow buildup, but in a few years it'd all start.

That's true! Though I wonder if I'd have been the sort of person to notice those subcultures, in those dark pre-net days. I'd probably put it down to Those Crazy Kids, while secretly thinking it was terribly cool.

Man, that's catchy music.

Honestly, this isn't far from what five-year-old me thought he'd look like when he was All Grown Up, working in the family business, or as a college professor teaching Science!! with the boldface and the capital letter and the exclamation point.

There's a flying car parked outside, of course.

It did rather strike me, when watching some episodes of UFO recently, just how freely cigarettes were handed out for just about any reason, and in any setting, including on submarines. ^_^;

I can't help but feel the show could've been improved if the tobacco had been replaced by pot, though.

Wow. You missed your dream-life by only 44 years! Then again, D&D was not around then. And there's that whole civil rights thing. Although living in Canada, it may not have been so much of an issue.

Heck, that's not my dream life. My dream life involves more Internet. :)

Well, there was always Ham radio back then.

And raising/racing courier pigeons.

Twitter, you mean. Problem with Twitter is that there was a 147 character limit, unless you wrote really small.

The show (at least season 1) takes place in 1960. Right around the start of the Kennedy era.

Me in the early 60s: Working in the advertising or television business, gay and closeted, probably a secret leftist. Musical tastes would include Stockhausen, Esquivel, abstract classical and lounge. I'd have an awesome hi-fi and an apartment in the city. Wait, that's kind of me now! I may or may not have been in a long term relationship with Axiom, depending on what city I was living in.
