Pyat's Lunchtime Adventures!

I had an unusual treat for lunch today. My parents were in Toronto, dropping an aunt off at the train station, and we managed to get together at the Spaghetti Factory. It's probably been about 25 years since I was there with my folks.


I love my mum and dad. :)


And my dad took this photo of me, because my head contains lead. :)

One of these years I'll have to go there. I always ended up at the Organ Grinder instead as a kid.

Wow, I never even heard of those. What were they like?

Oh, they were sort of "family restaurant with crazy stuff on the walls" places, with enormous slabs of cake and so on. They were owned by Honest Ed Mirvish, the guy who did all the theatre productions.

That's funny - 'cause you look like dad in that picture, but generally you are super twins with all the Gibson folks.

I miss that Spaghetti Factory too! And the Pickle Barrel! And the restaurant we went to on the way to Brockville...Pizza Mug or something??

Yes! The Pizza and Mug in Belleville. I found it once, while driving to visit mom and dad in Kingston, but it was all boarded up, and even the park across the way was looking pretty shabby.
