Reply to this meme by yelling "Words!" and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your LJ and explain what they mean to you.

Words from [livejournal.com profile] amarafox:

Family
I have one! I love them very much. [livejournal.com profile] velvetpage and I have been together 15 years, and she still manages to surprise me sometimes. Elizabeth and Claire are wonderful, creative little girls who are growing up to be very interesting people.

Nerdery
I am very much a nerd, of a certain kind. I like nerds. All my best friends are nerds. In the company of nerds, I can be expansive, witty, and a raconteur. They are my people. I go to conventions because I like being in a place full of enthusiastic happy people, no matter how odd they are. I don’t like to use the phrase “mundane.” But, I admit that when I’m placed in a room with people who regard nerdish pursuits as childish or uninteresting, I turn into a stammering, awkward, bumbling weirdo.

Furry
Ah, yes. Furry. I attend conventions, hang out on FurryMUCK, and sell books to people dressed as skunks. I really enjoy Furry fandom, even if the interactions are sometimes odd. They’re no odder, as a whole, than anime fans (for example) and tend to be less poisoned by irony.

Mice
I like mice, or at least fictional representations of intelligent mice. Real mice are interesting as well, but rather too stupid and too fragile to make ideal pets, IMHO. Reepicheep is very cool.

Awesome
Many things and people are awesome. A nice breeze from Lake Ontario is awesome. Eggs Benedict at 8 AM at Paddington’s Pump are awesome. Cool rainy days are awesome. I think everyone reading this is awesome – this may be the first time since I started Livejournal that I didn’t have any clunkers on my Friend’s List.

1. I'm not sure, sometimes it's one word, sometimes it's two. I don't think American Greetings cares about things like that. ^.^;;

I've been a fan of the Care Bears since I was a kid. Mostly through the television show and films published by Nelvana. For details you can read my recent essay "The Esoteric Mysteries of the Care Bear Family"

In one sense they live in something like my ideal lifestyle, living in love beyond my own capability. In another sense they represent the unspeakable, many forbidden ideas that are so powerful as to damage the minds and bodies of people most vulnerable.

Sarnia is the city where I was born and currently live, making me absolutely, definately and completely from Sarnia. It's my home town, with fire in the south, water in the west, windy fields in the east, and earthen forests in the north. We've got it all, baybee.

Do you mean Dwarf Fortress? I can't imagine what else you mean. XD Dwarf Fortress is a very neat roguelike-esque-kind-of sort-of thing, a fantasy world simulator where you can either manage a community of dwarves or go on an adventure. It's a surprisingly realistic simulation in a lot of ways, but not so much in a lot of other ways. It has a lot of ambition as well and is constantly being improved. One day I hope to make a similar game.

I'm a Squirrel! Sort of. Well I mean, not really, obviously, but in my imagination I'm certainly squirrel-esque. I have a big fluffy tail and enormous buck teeth and I'm ADORABLE and not a rat. I don't have enormous claws like regular squirrels, though, so that's weird. Actually, in my imagination I don't have claws or fingernails of any kind. Isn't that weird?

I guess this ties into it. Yeah I'm a Furry. Been a furry 4EVR and all that. I first got into the subculture in the ninties when I was in high school, and I found the alt.lifestyle.furry Newsgroup. That coloured my early days as a furry and helped me learn how to behave on the internets. I'm still friends with some of the people I knew back then, too!

I've never been to a furry con, or worn a fursuit, though I'd love to try both. I don't know if I'd be able to do the latter properly, however, since I'm so terribly shy. Puppets are fun. Furry art is great, and the furry people are even better... most of the time. ^.^

Oh, thank YOU! You sure are a popular mouse, too. Look at all of those people who want to know what you think.
