I like to think the geckos in my office are my friends, but they don't agree and will not let me pick them up.
As for mynah birds, they are not cute and are always in the middle of the road. I don't want them to land on my hand.
We have two cute little chickadee-type birds that hang out around the house...I should try to feed them! We also have cardinals, which blows my mind because they are winter birds in Canada...

We get cardinals at our back-yard feeder here in Dundas year round.

Geez, those are some very bold animals. Around here the squirrels don't mind people but you'd never get a chipmunk that close to you, let alone eating out of your hand. No way for the birds either. XD

That's true most places - but this is a nature path through a marsh, and the animals are very used to humans.

Even at the Children's Animal Farm here in Sarnia, where people have been feeding the wild animals for generations, you might get some ducks or goats that eat out of your hand when you defy the signs telling you not to do that, but never a squirrel or a bird. That's amazing. ^.^
