In the last three days, I've discovered two European Paper Wasps in the one. The first was in the basement, the second on Elizabeth's bedroom window soon after dawn. She came into our room complaining about the "housefly" keeping her awake, so I blundered into in her room grumpily, yanked back the window shade, and got a nice adrenalin jolt when I saw the huge flying demon.

The history of quinine is really interesting.

At the con yesterday there was this tall guy, around 6'2", well-built, and dressed in a corsetted leather military costume, with a leather peaked cap, collar, kilt, and enormous boots, his face made up. He said, to a little circle of friends around him:

"I can take a lot, but I didn't think there would be furries there. I can't f***king stand furries."

On Thursday I met with n_scale, a coworker who is on a sabbatical, and had a good chat about books, work, and gaming. I introduced him to the used game section at Grey Region, and he reacquainted himself with some old friends..

Not looking forward to work at all this week, for a couple of reasons.

Later today I'm doing a panel with jesshartley. I'm going to bring velvetpage and the girls, and then we're heading over to Woodbine Mall for supper.

Every year I diagnose 1-2 cases of cinchonism, or quinine toxicity, this more to my interest in medical history than anything I learned in medical school.

P.S. That back area at Grey Region keeps getting smaller and smaller, and the prices wanted for the used RPG stuff keeps getting ridiculously higher.

It's sometimes is prescribed for Restless Leg Syndrome. It doesn't help much. The prescribed dose however is often excessive for elderly persons with impaired renal function.

I was confused for a minute, as I can see Woodbine Ave. from where I am here, and I know there's no mall in this area! I've looked it up, and there's the Woodbine shopping center, near the Woodbine racetrack, sensibly on the opposite side of the city from Woodbine Ave. Gah, I hate this city :P
