It was a huge building, the former offices of the Toronto Telegram, which closed in 1971. It was four floors, with 4 or 5 large suites on each floor.

Wandering around inside reminded of dreams I've had, walking through room after room in a shabby warehouse, finding odd bits of debris and treasure. And dreams of climbing up ever higher. Even, in the case of the roof, up very narrow stairs to a tiny loft, and finding yet another door..

Almost every room had a loft. This one was used for storage of props and costumes, I believe. Others were used for sleeping.

There were a couple of these. This framework lets you take a bath and drain it, without having the attached plumbing.

Some rooms were artfully decorated, though one can see evidence of later vandalism.

One of the many "lofts."

Extremely narrow and steep stairway. Climbing it put me strongly in mind of certain dreams I have had, in which I ascend a series of narrow staircases to end up...

...in a tiny room. Much like this. And often...

...there is another door.

This one went to the roof.

I'm really enjoying these series of pictures and your interpretation of the scenes.

Wow! These places look like they were snuck into by artists and used for parties! Great shots.

wow.

Already, I've populated this building with the sorts of people I imagine lived there, the kinds of things they did, how they came to be there and how they felt when they learned they had to move.

Fantastic.

Kind of a shame, I would kill for a lovely loft and there they are decaying.

Urban infiltration of a former squat -- neat. :)

Oh, this may seem like an odd question, but any industrial photos in your collection that are all grey-ish and full of machinery? I'm using a set of stock photo backgrounds to test how an example GUI would look against them, and while I've found public domain landscapes easily, finding a good public domain 'industrial grey' background hasn't gone as easily.
