I stopped hiccuping about 10:30 last night!

My neck is still quite swollen and tender, and I'm actually rather sore from all the hiccuping, but I'm much better today than I was yesterday. The combination of the neck swelling and the hiccups was rather hellish.

Anyone know how many calories hiccuping burns?

Had a number of very weird dreams, some of them apparently Shatterzone-themed. And another one that started as a nightmare, with people peering into the windows of my house, that turned into a lucid dream. I went out and turned all the stalkers into friends, somehow, and they started a Renn Faire across the street. (????)

Hiccups are caused by muscle spasms in a particular muscle connected to the diaphram. You should be able to lessen the severity of hiccups or eliminate them entirely by focusing and breathing slowly and smoothly for a few minutes. Periodically holding your breath can help as well, since that relaxes the muscle untill it stops spasming.

Or so I have learned.

Yes, I did that a great deal, for hours on end.

Did it at least lessen it?

Not that I noticed - they only stopped when I fell asleep. :(
