For I am now 35! I am now quite officially well beyond the age where I understand what "The Kids" are on about, though I suspect I was also that age in 1990.
Yes! Emo! I read an article about Emo in Wikipedia, and realized that this was just the current equivalent of learning about Beatniks by reading an article in Atlantic Monthly.
Also, I realized recently that all the self-described "ravers" I knew, who were teenagers when I met them, are now 25 or older.
