[livejournal.com profile] catsarah had balloons!

[livejournal.com profile] momentrabbit and [livejournal.com profile] seattlemouse made some wonderful presents!

A cat from [livejournal.com profile] sassy_fae!

Patricia. If you play RPGs, chances are you've seen her art, or that of her husband.

[livejournal.com profile] nottheterritory, looking devillishly charming, as always.

Last known photo of [livejournal.com profile] momentrabbit, just before the tiger attack. [livejournal.com profile] seattlemouse survived unscathed.

[livejournal.com profile] velvetpage and [livejournal.com profile] anidada regard the fine spread!

Mmm.... crickets!

Peaches is a good... lizard... thing.

[livejournal.com profile] sassy_fae's remarkable cake.

Looking in...

[livejournal.com profile] velvetpage knows (Air) Hockey!

"Bouncy bouncy oo such a good time! / Bouncy bouncy shoes all in a line!"

[livejournal.com profile] nottheterritory talks books with one of the dads at his daughter's party, who happened to be this guy.

It is indeed! I'm still happy with her. Most of the Pro5s I've seen up here have some rust (ours included) especially around the nameplates and wheelwells, so make sure your replacement is solid. You may also expect to replace the clutch after 75k, and ours went through brakes at an accelerated rate for a while - they just seized up over night if the parking brake was on in deep-cold winter conditions. Going to after-market calipers fixed that. Lastly, do *not* drive 'em in winter without snow tires. The later Mazda3 has traction control; the Pro5 does not. With snow tires, she's a lynx. Without, she's a lynx on a slip-n-slide - bad scene.

That said, she's got ok-by-modern-standards gas mileage, engine's still purring at 150K, drives like a sportscar (manual, anyhow), handles very well, and transports four adults and baggage comfortably. We like her, and will drive her into the ground someday. :)

I may have to rethink this since Ann Arbor may be drawing me back into its gravitational well again. Not that the snow is especially bad there. Figure you have to replace most clutches at 75k, no biggie. I really liked the robustness of my late 80s Mazada 323. Great car til something punctured the gas tank. Sounds like the Mazda 5 could be the car to see me through grad school depending on when the Saturn finally bites it and just what's available. Who knows, I might find an Oldsmobile Aztek with the keys left in it just laying around depending on what happens to GM.
