Happy Birthday, Kirk!
Mar. 22nd, 2006 09:33 pmAs previously mentioned, today is William Shatner's 75th birthday.
etherlad and
sassyfae joined
velvetpage, Elizabeth and I in a traditional "Shatday" celebration. They arrived just as Mr. Shatner's rendition of Mr. Tambourine Man started up on the stereo.

We had decorations. Above is the traditional Shatday Centrepiece. Gaze upon the majesty! According to legend, if you leave a ham product under the Shatner Idol, all your dreams for the next Stardate will come true. Note also the Golden Words of Kirk, the legendary recollections of the man himself!

There were also hymns.
etherlad brought a number of Star Trek fan films on his laptop. The fan edit of Star Trek V into an actually watchable film was quite impressive. During the credits of a New Voyages fan film,
sassy_fae and Elizabeth provided an ethereal accompaniment to the familiar "AaaaahAAAAAaaaaAAAaaaaaAAAAH!" chorus.

A hunka hunka burnin' Kirk? The New Voyages were pretty cool, bad hair aside.
In short, a fine time was had by all. I ate a jelly doughnut, and some soda was consumed.
