More Eyes

I've posted a closeup of velvetpage's eyes before. Today, at a birthday party for my nephew, I snapped a photo of Elizabeth while she was sitting my lap. She also has distinctive eyes, blue with a hazel fleck. The blue is brighter than velvetpage's, and the fleck not as well defined. Still, very cool.

That's funny - 'cause you just have to give any of Piet's old pics a passing glance.... :) I think Claire has more of your feeatures, though! Both of them are beauties! (am I a gloating aunt or what?)

It is interesting to compare your eyes. All very lovely, yes even yours Pyat!

One time I compared LA's family's eyes. His mother, father, twin sisters and he all have gray/blue eyes with a gold ring around the pupil. My eyes are very vibrantly blue, which is interesting since my mother has very brown eyes and my father has hazel eyes. If you are interested, the best pic I have of them uploaded is my senior portrait I have posted on FB in the album I call older pics. I often wonder what eyes our child(ren) will have.

Blue is recessive to brown but dominant over hazel, so you must have got a blue gene from the parent with brown eyes and it's anybody's guess what you got from your father. That means a child of yours is more likely to have eyes like LA's, because baby will get blue from him and hazel from you, or vice-versa. There's about a one-in-four chance of pure hazel, which is pretty rare because it's recessive to most other colours.

Genetics experiment! Now you have to have a baby to see if I'm right. :)

I actually have green eyes. Light green with a dark green ring at the edge of the iris. I will have to post a pic sometime. My friend referred to as Daffy in my journal insists that from a distance of as little as across a restaurant table, they appear grey.

HusBrat's eyes are brown. I take this as an indication that he's full of it.
