It was actually $11,400.

I came very close to losing my temper with the woman when she told me she wasn't selling anything. After a two hour presentation about Rainsoft.

The worst sales people are the ones who try to make it sound like they are not sales people.

I am an incredibly effective salesperson (that horn tootin.. mine) and I am always brutally honest about my sales. And I win.

I had a similar experience with DirectBuy. The tell you how much their membership will save you and all that jazz, but you have to go to the presentation before they will tell you anything. If you have to hide it all in a "non sales presentation" then I don't need to buy it.

Yes! Just so. When corporations and cities get competing bids, the price it right at the top... and THEN it gets to talking about benefits. I want a price, a final price, and not 45 minutes spent talking about the price of soap and the hidden cost of hard water.

This. It's like those "come stay at our resort for free! you just have to listen to a three hour sales pitch about our time shares!" AHAHA, no.

I like it when my brother in law goes to those. He starts selling things to the people giving him the pitches.
