NYE 2008, recap
Jan. 1st, 2009 01:29 amWhen did my Livejournal turn into a photo blog? Ah well. To recap my last day of 2008.

I awoke to snow. I cleared the sidewalks for three houses (mine and two elderly neighbours) before 6:15 AM. Happily, it was light and powdery stuff, though I still managed to fall on my head walking to the bus.
I went into work. On the train in, I had a strange dream about
sassy_fae asleep on a bus that morphed into a dream of me driving along a river full of rainbow trout that morphed into a dream of me riding the train home from work that morphed seamlessly (though unpleasantly) into the realization that I was actually on a train and arriving AT work.

Worked till 12:30, then hit the town with
commanderteddog... seeking cheap RPG books at a well-known hole in the wall.

The Hairy Tarantula!

I bought some Dying Earth books. I did not buy the Balrog head.

We gobbled down lunch, and I took leave of the Teddog at Union Station, wishing her Happy New Year before scurrying to meet
kisekileia, who was coming into Hamilton and wanted to visit the Mousehold. We missed one bus, but got into town okay. She and
velvetpage chatted and hung out with the girls while I went grocery shopping.

Claire was very charming, and shared her private store of Christmas chocolate with the visitor.

Thence to the home of
doc_mystery and
mrs_dm! Elizabeth dyed her hair and had a lot of fun with Lauren.

Cocktails from a can!

Our charming hostess!

Later,
mar2nee and her kids arrived. Her husband Daniel was ill, but arrived for an hour or so later in the evening.

shadow_maze and the lovely Leeza, and their enormous son Liam, also came by!

doc_mystery showed me the wonderful riches he'd received from Spike Y. Jones, who drove through this very day! Fanzines! And a robot, though not from Spike Jones.

It was a fine evening of games...

Dress up parties!

Flash Gordon AND Blade Runner! Ye gods! A surfeit of riches!

Cork popping!

And toasts!
And good night!
