Canadian Politics meets Dune!

The presumed new leader of the Liberal party is Micheal Ignatieff, a Harvard, Cambridge and Oxford professor, documentary maker, egghead, and writer of novels with hot sex scenes. Indeed, he was once selected as "Canada's Sexiest Intellectual."

He is also the great-grandson of Count Nicholas Pavlovich Ignatiev, the feared Tsarist spy, diplomat, adventurer and (allegedly) assassin. He was the author of the anti-Semitic "May Laws". Count Ignatiev is also the villain of Flashman in the Great Game, which I just finished reading a couple of weeks ago!


One imagines a situation where mild-mannered Mike is sworn in as the Prime Minister... only to be awaken one night by a strident whisper, somewhere deep in his soul...

She's somewhat more exotic, yes. And her red hair is a nice tie to the Harkonnen blood.
