Forrest J. Ackerman is still alive, and apparently lucid. Ray Bradbury went to visit him in hospital.

(Speaking of Bradbury, later this month I'll be visiting Waukegan, and various sites from "Dandelion Wine.")

That still throws me. After spending several summers working at the Waukegan wastewater treatment plant, the idea of folks visiting there for fun makes me blink. :)

I'm glad that Ray Bradbury could visit. From descriptions I'm reading from that link I provided, Forry sounds a little better (but still quite frail; his choking on liquids is likely related to severe deconditioning of his bulbar apparatus used for swallowing, which often accompanies protein energy malnutrition in hospitalized patients.

I just read that Ray is going to be a guest programmer on AMC, I think Nov 20.

I'm glad to hear Forry's doing a bit better.
