Yes, FOX!

Smith: Now that the election is over, Carl, tell us more about those reports of infighting between Palin and McCain staffers.

Cameron: I wish I could have told you more at the time but all of it was put off the record until after the election. There was great concern in the McCain campaign that Sarah Palin lacked the degree of knowledgeability necessary to be a running mate, a vice president, and a heartbeat away from the presidency. We're told by folks that she didn't know what countries that were in NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement, that being the Canada, the US, and Mexico.

We're told she didn't understand that Africa was a continent rather than a country just in itself ... a whole host of questions that caused serious problems about her knowledgeability. She got very angry at staff, thought that she was mishandled.....was particularly angry about the way the Katie Couric interview went. She didn't accept preparation for that interview when the aides say that that was part of the problem. And that there were times that she was hard to control emotionally there's talk of temper tantrums at bad news clippings...

Only Nixon could go to China, only Fox news could start the feeding frenzy against Palin...

Wow.

Um, assuming that's the least bit accurate, I take it all back, she was just a complete and total moron.

Gotta love Bill O'Reilly trying DESPERATELY to defend her.

*shudder*

I have no words for how ignorant Palin is and the fact that she's gotten as far as she has. But on the other side, I think I've seen the best description of this election yet.

Americans have gotten our self respect back.

I'm really tired of being ashamed of my country. I really want the world to stop hating us.

I keep getting attacked by people for saying "now I'm proud of America". "Where was your loyalty before? Can't you understand how great your freedoms are? Fair-weather patriot!"...

Yes, because I was treated so well as a bisexual pagan woman (hey, at least I'm white!), particularly for the last 8 years of Neo-Conservatism, but let's not forget the however-many-years of racial oppression that I'm proud we conquered. Please, equate me to someone who loses faith in a poorly managed sports team as opposed to having issues with laws, statutes, and foreign conceptualization of my own country that affects my life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. Kthx.

Yeah, well, I'm white anglo saxon and protestant... and I was terribly ashamed of how the country was seen overseas.

But the answer is if you don't like the politics, to work against them. I didn't work for Obama, but I did work for my brand shiney new Senator and she will kick so much ass when she gets to Washington.

I'm from Biden's home state. As a 61% vote for Obama state, I'm pretty proud of the work we do here, plus reaching into Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Meanwhile, my sister spread the rumors of Obama being an evil muslim and whatnot. Can only do so much to educate people, I suppose.

Ah, see, I live in North Carolina and they still haven't called us yet ;) Obama's ahead by 13,000 votes.

We elected a female governor, Beverly Perdue by the skin of her teeth (she needs to write a thank you note to Barack Obama because she ran a horrible campaign), and we threw Liddy Dole out on her behind in a 9 point traunching. In part because she ran ads insinuating that her opponent, a charismatic policy wonk former sunday school teacher was an aethist.

Yeah, the "Godless" thing was a pretty dumb move. I'm excited for North Carolina making their own bit of history!

I am unsurprised... they (the ephemeral they) need to blame someone for the loss... from the first time Palin shot herself in the foot I knew that she was likely to be the scapegoat.

I actually feel pity for her. She shouldn't have said yes when asked... but she also should never have been asked. It is only partially her fault this was mishandled... it was also George W. and advisors' fault for leading the country to the mess it needs to be extricated from, and McCain and staffers' fault for making the bad decision to use Palin as a running mate.

For everyone who was observing carefully and objectively, this is OLD news. The opinion that taking on Sarah Palin as a running mate was political suicide has been going around for a long time now, even amongst many Republicans.

Did she galvanize a lot of support for the Republicans? Certainly! But look what kind of support she seemed to be rallying - people with clearly outspoken xenophobic and ultra-right wing values. I think seeing footage of her rallies, with everyone shouting 'Terrorist' and what not, and Palin doing little to check them, probably galvanized even MORE people to support Obama.

But, as it was said in the interview, it wasn't really her fault. She ought not have been selected as a running mate in the first place. End of. As was stated in the interview, the Replubicans were hoping for a 'Hail Mary Play'. There's a reason those need some serious prayer to work. I think that's why Collin Powell was quite right in criticizing McCain and his advisers for selecting her in the first place.

My question is what's with this 'off the record' crap until the election is over? This is the sort of thing the voting public needs to know before the voting is over.

She's the scapegoat, I figure. Now they can smear her, and blame it all on her.

No-one on this blue earth is qualified and capable of being the President of the United States of America. They have to create an illusionary ideal person, or nobody would have faith in them. So, it's the republican party itself that was keeping this secret, not the news.

Likewise, McCain isn't really an Epic War Hero and Champion of a Thousand Lost Causes and Obama isn't really Hope Incarnate and Made Flesh.

Scapegoat or not that woman gave me bad vibes all the way around the planet and back. Brr...

I only know one person who actually liked her; she actually said that she trusted Palin a lot better than the other three. That was so bizzare.
