You know, I really have to disagree that there's a difference on your last sentence.

No, he's got it right...

It's not from a random blog - it's from a specific blog. Otherwise, I can't argue that nitwit=McCain.

Yeah, this member of the Pro-Obama Dungeons and Dragons crowd also seems to know the difference between Shiite and Sunni Muslims which McCain doesn't. I won't speculate on whether the incident McCain likes to mention is true. It could be even if a writer also depicted something similar. We can't say. However, experience is about what you learn from it not what you endured. I wonder whether McCain has learned anything for all the pain and suffering he underwent.

Also, the guy who runs the DailyKos is himself a vet. Not a great war hero, but someone who did serve. There's no sitting in his mother's basement for that guy. Yeah, and an awful lot of the gamers I've over the years have also served. The Navy seems to generate a lot of gamers.

We've got our Shiite together, all right.

I believe you need to remove the "not" from your statement, there.

I doubt he wrote it, mind.

Michael Goldfarb, the head of his communications team, wrote it. He's also a man who has explicitly said, it seems, that a president should have near-dictatorial powers.

That's... wow. I'll be in the backyard building a fallout shelter, if anyone's looking for me.

I deeply fear for the future of the US.

People refuse to learn their lessons.

There are John McCain posters in peoples' front yards around here!

As if eight years of clueless GOP leadership isn't enough to show them voting for this clown is a bad idea, they intend to vote for him anyway!

I feel like a lone warrior fighting against an army of morons.

These people are like rats who keep trying to eat the electrified cheese instead of the non-electrified piece right next to it.

Sigh.

Thirded, and passed.

Next order of business, electrified bananas.

I live in a Republican stronghold. I've seen one McCain sticker, and loads of Obama posters about. It's uncanny.

Of course Obama is supposed to be the antichrist too, according to the McCain folks.

Goldfarb has apparently issued an apology (http://ace.new.mu.nu/apology_from_mccains_campaign_blogger).

Oh that's fantastic. Doesn't make up for the idiocy at all, but it makes you laugh at the guy.

ROFL

Did he suddenly realize that those "Pro-Obama Dungeons and Dragons" folk are likely of voting age?

Hmm??

Nope, that apology was for a previous joke about D&D players, made in July.

Sometimes I wonder if his campaign is being run by a pack of 14-year-olds. Like, does he want to win?

In the interest of full disclosure, although kos himself is a very level-headed and non-screamy sort of chap, some of his fellows can get a little out there when they decide to get aggressive.

Oh, uh, and to say nothing of the truthfullness of the stereotyping, there...aren't many gamer types over there. And most of the commenters are, uh, old. At least the ones who've talked about having an age at all.

I'm very sorry, but as stated elsewhere, any analysis of American politics is on hold for a while, until I finish reading this used copy of Return to the Keep on the Borderlands.

Oh boy, this is REALLY rich. As it turns out...

So what I said earlier, about most kossacks being older folks? Guess who we now find that applies to?

Our hypothetical pro-Obama D&D player! Who, as it happens, is a 14-year Navy veteran. Also, he was on the USS Carl Vinson as it stormed off to Afghanistan following 9/11!

Seriously (http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/8/19/11438/1343/321/570210). Too bad he wasn't a fighter pilot whose dad was an admiral, too, or he might have military service we should also respect, rather than his inferior "nuclear plant operator" credentials. Whatever those are. Sounds like something you would do out of a basement.
