So, velvetpage and I are watching There Will Be Blood tonight, and as I'm watching, I'm thinking it's odd that I should be watching this movie while reading a book set in the same time period.

And I'm thinking, hmm, I should watch for common thematic elements and maybe use them as inspiration for a game. And I'm thinking, "Gosh, this reminds me strongly of that book I'm reading."

And so I wiki the film, and find out that the novel I'm reading, The Jungle, is by the same author as the book that was the basis of the film - Upton Sinclair. Doh.
