melstra offered to write me a poem about any topic of my choosing, for my birthday. So I challenged her to write one about Doctor Who, furries, and RPGs.

To love a geek

I love a geek—I love a few—
Most fans of books and Dr. Who;
Some Trekkies and some Furry-folks;
Some SCA-dians in boots and cloaks.

I love a geek—It’s great! Do you?
Let’s gather them, and make a zoo!
Where geeks of all types run and play
Those silly RPGs all day!

I love a geek—But I’m one, too!
I’ve got some pretty strong “geek-fu”
I’m proud of it—I’m not ashamed!
Hey, I write poems! I play games!

So love your inner geek—it’s true!
There’s more than wearing specs askew;
We geeks are loving, smart, and fun.
Go hug your geek-friends, everyone!
