I had a dream last night, in which I was trying to find my way home without my glasses, at night. The streets were blurry and strange, but the Piggot Building was on fire, so I was able to use that as a navigation marker. The house was much larger than I expected it to be. I wandered from room to room for a while.

Later, Yoda gathered everyone into the schoolyard across the street, which was frozen, and asked them if they wanted more wisdom. A very old shaman-lady whispered that true wisdom meant that one should not ask for wisdom, so Yoda instructed her to cut out her tongue with a pair of scissors. At that, an officious looking man in a cloak spread a sheet on the ground, and arranged dozens of pairs of scissors on it. The audience, which seemed to be a mix of people dressed in hodge-podge of SF and historical attire, collected these and prepared to snip of their tongues. Then Yoda noted that they should also cut off their noses.

As people were about to do this, Yoda told them to stop! He said he was trying to make a point about following orders blindly. Most people seemed to think he was actually just being a jerk.

And then I woke up.

I'm sick today, staying home from work. This sucks especially because tomorrow [livejournal.com profile] velvetpage and I are going for a romantic weekend getaway... and I'm sneezing and stuffed up, and blotchy and have a cracked red nose. Sigh. The minivacation was originally scheduled for February, but we had to cancel it when Claire got sick.

This is the hotel we're going to:

Did some laundry and dishes, and cleaning... now I'm just sitting around and watching Phantom of the Paradise on Youtube.

Why not?

It was at the Delta Armouries that I was asked if I and my singing group were on tour. It was Sunday brunch, that happened to be on Mothers' Day, and my four sisters and I were sipping mimosas and contemplating another run at the buffet when the roaming musical trio they had brought in just for that brunch stopped by to ask if we had any requests. We requested "Edelweiss" and then sang along, in harmony (of at least three parts, possibly four). When we finished, the musicians asked us where our next tour stop was, and how long we'd been on the road. That was fun!

Hope you guys have a good time, despite all the apparent obstacles.

A very cool story, thank you. :)

We had a quiet time, anyway. I was still very much under the weather.
