I never watched "America's Got Talent," and, while I adore the Blue Man Group, I wasn't that keen on the vocalist on this version. But then, I'm an old-fashioned girl. I like the original vocalist... hee!
On the plus side, that's very cool that your kids were lovin' it :)
I didn't mind the vocals, though for me it proves how great The Who were. I would say the guitar solo was the real disappointment, really just an admission of lack of skill.
