We didn't have Rat-On-A-Stick, but [livejournal.com profile] sassy_fae's "Meatza" was delicious as always.

And, these are the reamins of the day. Or evening.

Not shown: the armload of bottles and cans I took out to the recycling bin.

Despite the appearance of Dark Heresy on the table (an game most interesting because of its complete lack of Space Marines...), we played Castle Falkenstein. The campaign - "Watchmen at the Gates of Dawn" - is set in 1880s England.

Yup. Inquisitorial assistants of some kind, with no mechanism in the game for even becoming an actual, y'know, Inquisitor.

The whole thing becomes a lot less palatable, at least to me. It's like they put out an edition of Warhammer Fantasy RPG with the career list limited to "Assistant Witch Hunter."

Maybe the idea is that it's a roleplaying widget - the gamemaster gets to figure out how people go from Inquisitiorial understudies to being the real thing.

Gah. That sucks. I mean one of the coolest things about the Inquisition as a roleplaying device, is that you get all sorts of random dudes showing up. Wanna play an Eldar pirate? A Kroot sniper? A former pit slave who got religion? A Valhallan infantryman? Hey, Inquisitorial retinue!
