"Michelangelo, it only took you an hour to paint the floor! Why is the ceiling taking so long? It's the exactly the same number of square feet!"

11 more work days, is it?

You can do it! The light at the end of the tunnel is not an oncoming train! It is the sweet, sweet light of freedom!

So they're actually projecting that you'll finish _all_ of your work by the time you leave?

Nah, just a general observation of the local practice of pulling hour estimates from the air, and then getting bent out of shape when they aren't real.

"All our projects are going over hours. There must be something wrong with the writers!"

And:

"It took you ten minutes to write a page of content about wooden fences. Why did it take you an hour to write a page of content about Hall-Effect Binary Sensors?"

But Hall-Effect Binary Sensors are LIKE wooden fences! I mean, they do the same thing... wait, no they don't. They're made out of the same... nope, not that.

I know! They're both THINGS. They're the same!

You should get these nice people a going-away present on your last day.

I wonder if anyone makes pointy-haired wigs?

Given what you've said about your work before, I can actually imagine what you're talking about. ^.^;;

And some of each will indicate 'north'! Depending on where they're built. n.n

I am obligated -nay, *forced*- to point out that cathedral ceilings generally have substantially greater square footage than cathedral floors.

Which really only makes the context of your situation more amusing, in that the speaker is even more wrong than they know. n.n

Man, I'd laugh except that it's a joke that just isn't very funny when you consider how many employers think like this.

Lee.

I regret that I, also, was going to point out the divergence in vaulted area vs flat.

But, yes, they are dumb.
