I have done three loads of laundry, sorted (belatedly) all our taxes, taken a 40 minute bath, booked a hotel room for our 10 anniversary, found out why we were being billed for home renos we did last year, and actually did some work.

And, also, P.S., I had the best kind of Lunch Time Adventure. I took [livejournal.com profile] velvetpage out! In this photo, she is alledgedly mortified because I blew my nose on a paper napkin. However, please note she is grinning broadly behind her hair.

And, to top it all off, it's a beautiful day out there.

Would it have been better if you'd blown your nose in HER napkin?

Nose blowing at any table is disgusting. I know other's mileage may vary, as I've had this discussion many times with many people. I realise sometimes you must, but unless you're handicapped and can't leave the table to go to the bathroom, there's really no excuse. And if it's a nose blowing brought on by a sneeze, on can still excuse oneself to go wash hands and dispose of tissues. The other part to that is when people use napkins at a table to blow their nose, and then put the used napkin back on the table. I don't care if I'm in someone else's home, if I see that, I almost always say something about it. There's just nothing defensible about doing that.

I'm not usually a germ-phobic person, but this particular practice squicks me to a deep level.

I take your point, unfortunately, for some of us, this probably precludes going out to eat. When I eat food that is hot in temperature (like soup) or hot in spice (which I like), my nose runs. There's nothing I can do about. I usually try to prep myself with a kleenex packet or spare napkins ahead of time, and I take care not to blow my nose directly at the table (I usually turn aside when I need to blow my nose).

But if I had to get up and go to the bathroom whenever my nose needed attention... well... I wouldn't be going out to eat at all, probably.

Actually, it was the putting of the napkin on the table after use that drove me to make the face. It was a much better face before he started getting out the camera.

Doc_mystery also has this annoying habit of blowing his nose with a paper napkin (although he prefers Kleenex). It mortifies me too, but I've learned to live with it:)

Nod. It beats having to wipe a runny nose on your sleeve. Or on my sleeve for that matter.

::B::

P.S. But I do put the serviette back in my pocket and not on the table.
