I received some very nice early presents today, including Season 1 of The IT Crowd from [livejournal.com profile] summerfields. Thanks, guys!

I also got this from my parents:

All the components seem to be working together fine. Next step is to locate some compatible film. It uses 116 film, which is no longer sold, but I hear some kinds of film currently sold would fit the spool.

Argh! I thought I had a link to a place that could help you out, but they don't sell 116 film after all. Just 127 and 126 Instimatic film.

I did find this: http://greyhoundman.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_greyhoundman_archive.html

Though I don't know how helpful it is. He makes some pretty major modifications, and is pretty cavalier about it. 'Oh, the shutter didn't work, so, I fabricated a new one' type stuff.

It's a lovely piece though, and I give you joy in it. :)

I have that exact camera as well! If you know what film works with it, let me know. I'd be extremely interested in trying it out.

The supergeek in me is thinking it might be possible to retrofit it with a CCD.

If you just want to give it a one-time whirl.

Ah, nice! I've got one of those around here, too. I know some aficionados take photos through the viewfinder with newer cameras to get a 'pre-aged' shot.

I had a holiday brownie when I was wee. I loved that camera. Wish I still had it, but I don't think I do.

Neat, but... Does anyone actually sell film anymore, never mind develop it? *boggle*

Ok, I'm damn envious. I hope it still works.
