[livejournal.com profile] momentrabbit stopped by at lunch to take [livejournal.com profile] commanderteddog and I someplace... wonderful.

We all piled into The Yellow Peril. [livejournal.com profile] momentrabbit drove. Since it's his car and all.

[livejournal.com profile] commanderteddog did not stick her head out of the window.

Moment took us here.

The seats are made from old car bench seats.

We ordered marvelous, terrible things, and then sat around...

...waiting for them to arrive.

[livejournal.com profile] momentrabbit brought us presents. A Cucumber Club pin for me...

And an original Prisoners of Gravity promo postcard for [livejournal.com profile] commanderteddog who, P.S., knows Rick Green and is the webmistress of Signal Loss. She "Squee'd".

Food arrived. Please counterpoint this image with one of a White Castle burger I took in November 2008...

...yeah. Both of these things are "hamburgers." "Hamburger" is clearly just a general phylum catchword, rather than a reference to any specific food.

[livejournal.com profile] momentrabbit had a hamburger topped with fried banana and peanut butter.

Look CLOSER.

The aftermath - a disgusting slurry of poutine remnant.

AND CHUNKS OF FRIED CHEESECAKE.

Good times. We talked about Dickensian RPGs, Shakespeare, and BNL/Moxy Fruvous Slash Fiction.

...and then we all died of heart attacks. :)

My arteries are clogging just looking at the pictures.

I love momentrabbit's car's name.

I've never had poutine, though I've seen it on the menu at various Canadian establishments I've been to. What is it, exactly?

When I scrolled down and saw the Dangerous Dan's sign, I swear, my heart screamed. I got the Coronary Burger once: the burger was as big as my head, and I felt very, very ill after trying to eat it (no, I didn't finish). I figure, just to say you've done it, it's worth doing once. ONCE. /Danny Vermin

P.S. Poutine is better with chicken or turkey gravy, and frying cheesecake might actually make it edible, IMO.

As for the BNL/MF slash: I'm sure it's been done. Not my cuppa. :P

A local diner called the Triple XXX (yes, I know that's redundant, but that's the name) servers as one of their specials, the 'Duane Purvis All American'. It's a 1/4 lb beef patty with american cheese, pickles, lettuce, tomato, onion, and peanut butter.

I happen to like them... (without the onion and tomato) but only once every couple years or so.

I feel obligated to point out that my burger - 'The Elvis' - came not only with peanut butter and slices of fried banana, but also, bacon. Which made it perfect. n.n

Hahahaha. No, he's still alive. He's currently living in Japan, where it sounds like he is a GIANT compared to most of the population. (6'3", 280 pounds a few years ago.) He ditched me as a friend in mid-2006 for a shitty reason, which probably could have been resolved if he'd actually openly TALKED to me about the problem he had with me earlier, and which involved me supposedly having slighted two mutual friends who both turned out to have no problem with me. He did this VIA E-MAIL even though at the time he was one of my best friends. Once I got over my bending over backwards to apologize stage of dealing with the problem, I was not impressed.

Sadly, to have one I must plan, as a trip back to Ottawa just for a hamburger is a little much (been done, though).

and a Works burger? http://worksburger.com
just peruse the toppings on the menu. I believe it was Moment's burger that made me think of it :)

Yup. In half the time the others took to eat their burgers.

What? It was only an 8-ouncer, and quite nicely prepared. n.n
