We observed Earth Hour this evening - shutting down all our electric lights and non-essential appliances. The usual crowd were visiting, so the power savings spread across three additional households.

We played a board game by candlelight, while [livejournal.com profile] anidada (who smelled quite yummy) DJed or kept the kids entertained.

I'm rather pleased with this spontaneous portrait of [livejournal.com profile] catsarah.

[livejournal.com profile] velvetpage studying the board intently.

[livejournal.com profile] anidada snuggling with her daughter. This was taken a few minutes before we turned off the computer.

I'd like the full size of all of the pics you took tonight if I may? *Hugs*

The last time we had candlelit gaming, it was because the hurricane took out power for the area - and it stayed out for a few weeks. While the candlelit mood seemed appropriate enough for our "Dante's Inferno" themed D&D game, it posed certain problems: [livejournal.com profile] moonwolf's character sheet (of her goblin fire mage) got singed by one of the candles, and one of her plastic card-holders (which we used to organize "loot cards") got partially melted as well. (We chalked it up to "great roleplaying," since she was the party's pyromaniac.)

Anyway, it seems like a very cozy, cool experience. I'm gathering you managed the potential fire hazards far better than we did. =)
