Two photos today:


First, I was struck by the shafts of light coming down through the skylights in the roof over platform 3A at Union Station.


While lunching with melskunk today, she spotted the IT manager at my office and said she wanted to find out where he got his distinctive coat. I brought her over for an introduction. Along the way, I also may have something like, "I think he's some kind of furry Klingon cosplayer!" So, melskunk immediately grinned at him and said, "pyat says you're a furry!". The truth is somewhat less mundane, oddly enough.

The IT manager revealed that he had in fact made the coat himself. The plates are made of sawn up hard drive platters - and he also makes a lot of interesting things from found tech. Club wear, Goth attire, and fetish gear specifically.

I think he needs to make me a coat too O.o WANT! (the coat that is...though you know how I go for those IT geeks...IT geek in leather *needs oxygen * ;)

That coat gives me some ideas! I have about ten dead hard drives scattered around my office. I just need to get a distressed leather coat from a second hand store and I'll be ready to experiment. I think I'll experiment with should plates or something on the arms.
