Lots of snow coming tomorrow, but I believe I shall make it into Toronto on the train.

Right now I'm going to lie down in the bathtub and finish the last ten pages of Masada. Very involving book so far. I can't wait for the sequel! I have a funny feeling those nasty Romans won't keep Elazar ben Ya'ir down!

(Yes, yes, I know what happens.)

Odd thing, though... reading the book brought back all my memories of the 1981 miniseries based on the novel. So, my mind's eye has Peter O'Toole as the Roman general.

I wouldn't worry about making it in to Toronto more than making it home. The trains going in seem to be "okay" on storm days, especially if the storm is weaker in the morning (well, DUH), but coming home is a mess. Either one delay in turn causes a pile more and the board at Union becomes a sea of red and yellow... or YOUR train gets stuck somewhere because the tracks are a mess. I got struck at Port Credit for over an hour once last year.

Still beats driving. But, hey, if you're stuck for a while at Union, there's an awesome arcade there. They have a Doctor Who pinball machine.

Yup! And I always keep a couple of audio books on my MP3 player, and a novel in my briefcase, for unexpected delays.

One of the lessons I learned as a reporter was "Always have something to read."

Or you can do what I used to do on delayed trains and just sleep.

Note: this does not work as well at Union itself.
