Today!

velvetpage is packed up and ready to go. Tomorrow morning, quite early indeed, she's heading to Buffalo, and thence to Detroit, and from Detroit to Mephis, and from Memphis to the fabled township of Weiner, Arkansas. There, she will be breaking bread with a number of very good friends, none of whom she has met with in reality. I'll be holding the fort, here, weeping bitter lonely tears into an enormous checkered handkerchief.

I went puttering around St. Lawrence Market this afternoon with melskunk, who happened to be downtown. As we wandered, we saw they were filming a segment of the Daily Planet show for Discovery channel. Mel's blue hair caught the attention of the field producer (or whatever that guy was) and he directed us to join the throng near the front rank. So we did, and we learned how to measure the speed of light with chocolate chips and a microwave.




We even managed a modicum of chit-chat with the host, this chap here.


melskunk was perhaps inspired by the demonstration to purchase chocolate for an Ad Astra chocolate tasting event.

Following a terribly long commute home, I bumped into wytetygryss and walked and talked with her for a bit... and arrived home to find sassy_fae visiting, and colouring in things busily with Claire and Elizabeth.
