Meme!

From [livejournal.com profile] melskunk:
☞ If you like, post this meme and your current wallpaper.
☞ Explain in no more than five sentences why you're using that wallpaper!
☞ Don't change your wallpaper before doing this! The point is to see what you had on!

This is a picture of Claire, buried under two monitors worth of pickup audio, tracking sheets, and heavily edited storyboards. It's there because I like the photo. It makes me feel shiny.

Wait, you leave your windows spanning multiple monitors? Doesn't that get confusing?

[identity profile] pyat.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Not usually - in this case, I'd just closed a window I'd been working in.

I have dual monitors too, but rarely do I have anything that bridges the gap, unless I'm referring to something side by side.

I put up my own version of this meme on my LJ (http://leonard-arlotte.livejournal.com/57584.html).

I really like that user icon!

[identity profile] leonard-arlotte.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Carved it myself from an autumn gourd!

Okay, that is really awesome. :)

[identity profile] pyat.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
He carved it himself from a larger icon!

I dunno if I'll post this one in my LJ because I posted a "screenshot" meme not *too* long ago. However, my current desktops are, described lazily because I'm at work and don't have access to my home machine to take a screenshot:

Work: Fallout 3 promotional wallpaper featuring a delapitated post-apocalyptic town with a man and a dog walking away down a crumbling road.

Home: Monitor 1 - A photo of one of the knob panels of a MiniMoog synthesizer; Monitor 2 - A promotional wallpaper featuring the box art for Reaktor 5.

I use the Fallout 3 image at work because I'm hugely addicted to the game, and I find the image oddly soothing, perhaps because it brings to mind afternoons when I'd just give up on questing and wander around exploring the landscape. I use the music-related wallpapers at home because, well, that's where I make music, and the images get me in the mood.

You know, I don't think I've yet listening to your music!

And I've not met you yet in person! We should amend these things.

[identity profile] epi-lj.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
We should!

One of these things is even easy to rectify right from your desk (http://www.ramp-music.net/?page_id=7). :) (Note that that page is in chronological order, and I really should rearrange it into reverse-chronological order. The entire "Origin Stories," EP is probably not worth spending a lot of time on unless you take on a historical interest, and the style and approach changes significantly over the time span covered.)

Thank you, sir. I shall give a listen later this evening.

We should have you and some of your "gang" down for gaming, perhaps!

[identity profile] epi-lj.livejournal.com 2009-09-23 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
That could certainly work. We do like gaming!

I'll probably put out a very casual call for people to drop by for games sometime over the next few weeks, since I will finally have a little time. You're also welcome to come if that happens.

Aww, that's a cute shot of her!
