Two Things

1. I am feeling a keen desire to play in a game of Hackmaster. Like, an epic convention style game, with pizza breaks, and a high body count, rules wrangling, and lots of bad puns. Why? I don't know. It's Fall, I guess.

And really, my Gnomeling Cleric/Thief barely adventured at all, before being eaten by beetles.

2. Saturday morning cartoons never existed for my children. Hmm. I don't think they notice.

I'm having the urge to run a vampire game of personal horror.

Using Rifts.

[identity profile] pyat.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, Rifts is very much a game I find personally horrible!

*rimshot!*

I'm here all week!

I feel so vindicated in my mockery of that game all of these years!

Yes, I know. But it's also the comfort (read junk) food for me of gaming, since it's what I cut my teeth on.

Hey, I just said I wanted to play Hackmaster, which makes Rifts look like cutting-edge "Forge" conceptual roleplaying. :)

I dunno, Hackmaster seems pretty Forgie to me. Not as much as D&D 4E mind you.

What? :)

You ever talk to those people on story-games.com ?

Join my greek adventure game! It's not quite like that!

[identity profile] pyat.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Will there be pizza?

[identity profile] sythyry.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
If I were being wholly consistent, there would not be. I will probably do Greek feast for some dinners, at least.

[identity profile] pyat.livejournal.com 2008-09-26 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps a Greek pizza?

What's Hackmaster? It sounds interesting.

It can be lots of fun!

I remember Saturday Morning cartoons as a religious event.

They petered out around 11 to noon (depending on your tastes) so you could still go play with friends.

And yeah, my kids don't get that much either. Time will tell if this scars them later in life.

WB still shows some cartoons, and Cartoon network always has cartoons, except for when they don't.

I suppose there's always DVDs, but from what I've heard, your kids seem to have wonderfully developed imaginations already.

[identity profile] pyat.livejournal.com 2008-09-26 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, they have their cartoon fix. There are whole networks dedicated to 'em, and a huge DVD collection.

I'm just reflecting that we're not in a world where media would appear and vanish into the void, only to be dimly remembered. Now they can watch Blue's Clues on three stations, at 2 AM. :)
