Update

It was clear and cold this morning, with a thick frost on the car windows and lawns. The sky was as clear and dark as it ever gets in Hamilton, meaning only a few dozen stars were visible. But, the ones I could see shone bright and clear, with barely a twinkle. When I turn right out of my front door, Orion’s Belt shines in front of me all the way to the bus stop.

We bought a “new” camera, a Fuji FinePix S800. It a highly-reviewed “bridge” camera, midway between a digital point-and-shoot and digital SLR. When I arrives, I’ll be taking photo requests!

The diminutive Optios S [livejournal.com profile] kianir mailed me last year is still functional, but it requires much fussing and must be help in a specific way to prevent the battery from disconnecting itself while shooting photos. It will remain in my coat pocket, inside the Altoids tin, for whenever I want to ambush people or take pictures of plates of bacon.

....What?

The office "Casino Party" was held in Garth Drabinsky's empty penthouse apartment. Drabinsky of 17 Tony Awards and $334 million in debt and "going to jail."

When I mean "empty", I don't mean "Empty of Mr. Drabinsky." I mean nothing but plaster dust, folding chairs, a roulette table, and a plastic buffet table. No furniture, no heat, and most of the light bulbs were gone.

There were scripts for "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and "Sixth Sense" in the bedroom closet.

Photos later. Now is pizza!
