velvetpage reports that it is 9 C (48 F) in the main floor of the house. Warmer upstairs. I suspect the basement is an ice cavern. I'll check when I get home.

To recap: Furnace broken, space heater placement on first floor an issue because they keep tripping breakers.

I have always relied on the kindness of strangers...

...and they don't come any stranger than momentrabbit and seattlemouse, who travelled all the way from Toronto with a cago of oil-filled radiators!

Already the main floor is a balmly 13 C (55 F)! Break out the Bermuda shorts!
